Kearsarge Pass
[edit]Does anybocy know anything about Kearsarge Pass? Apparently it is in the park, and there seems to be quite a bit of photography of it out there on the web...--128.111.97.196 20:32, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Info to add
[edit]Several topics that should be addressed are Geology, Hiking, Native Americans and Future Protection. 71.6.36.226 19:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
General Grant NP
[edit]What about the "General Grant National Park" (or something similar) that later became part of Kings Canyon NP? I found a mention of it on [1]. It's glancingly mentioned on this wikipage, at best. —ScouterSig 05:12, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Depth
[edit]I have changed the bit about Kings Canyon being the deepest, as the NPS doesn't make such a claim. I backed that up with the cite to the NPS PDF already used as a source here, and left a footnote that Hells Canyon is listed as the deepest with a recent book source on that. The sentence said it was the deepest per the Guinness Book of World Records, but did not give year, so perhaps things have changed since an older version. Until a full source is given, it should remain as "one of". Plus I commented out the depth, as that is not supported by the citation. Feel free to re-add (presumably with a different number) once a reliable source is located and added. Aboutmovies (talk) 07:56, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- Geology Overview - Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks (U.S. National Park Service) says: A few miles outside the parks, Kings Canyon deepens and steepens becoming arguably the deepest canyon in North America for short distance. Sam Tomato (talk) 18:37, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Redwood National and State Parks designation REMOVED
[edit]"Redwood National and State Parks" is a VERY specific name for only REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK and the three state parks (Prarie Creek, Del Norte Coast, and Jedediah Smith) that are located adjacent to (actually touching) Redwood National Park. This category is in error listing any parks beyond those three State parks in addition to RNP and will confuse readers. No other parks are included in the historic management compact that exists in between only the three listed state parks and Redwood National Park. Disagree?
