Should the Lombard ruled "Kingdom of Italy" be retitled "Lombard ruled Roman Republic"? The Lombards, although at first an "Arian" Christian tribe, converted to Catholicism after the Papal State had defeated them: The Lombards practiced law under an unique form of Lombard assented Roman Civil Law, and, thus, would be legally a part of the Roman Republic (also known as the Roman "empire"). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5CC:8201:E0B0:CCEB:A8C1:F75A:7353 (talk) 12:00, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
