Title
[edit]Does anyone know what the actual title for this episode is? The name of the article is "Kindred" while the title in the template at the bottom is "Kindred Spirits." I just wanted to bring this up because it is kind of confusing. As I have not seen the episode myself yet, I was wondering if someone else could clear it up. Thanks, Happyface162 03:42, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Soccer match reference
[edit]This is probably horribly fancrufty, but it may help put this episode in perspective chronologically. The robbery that Peter assisted in was to steal money from the bets made on a match between Celtic F.C. and A.C. Milan. As those two teams are based in different countries, Scotland and Italy respectively, they could only have been playing in either the UEFA Cup or the UEFA Champions League tournaments, most probably the latter considering their respective domestic league successes. Now while those two teams did indeed play each other last week in Champions League group stage play, a 2-1 last minute win for Celtic, this episode implies that Celtic lost the match. Considering that this episode took place roughly 4 months after the 2006 election, the setting for the end of season 1, it is more likely that the game was the March 7 2007 meeting between the two teams in which Celtic lost 1-0 after a closely contested first round match that required extra time to decide. Indeed, Peter's line to the security guard ("I thought Celtic were a lock!") implies such a close result. Assuming that all storylines are running concurrently, you could reasonably place this episode as taking place on or very near to the date of March 7, 2007.
Well, that, or the writers are just soccer fans. :) --Billdorr 08:11, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Unless the coincidence is referenced, it's original research. --Madchester 03:13, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Of course, it's 100% OR on my part. I never claimed otherwise. I just found it rather interesting, considering they could have not even mentioned the teams or even the sport, but they instead appear to have picked an actual event and included it into this fictional world. It shows some great attention to detail on the part of the writers. --Billdorr 07:38, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Irish Scenes
[edit]There are many goofs in these scenes, though I don't know whether they are substantial enough to include in the page. Anyway I will list the ones I noticed.
- Though the scenes are set in Cork, Ricky has a Dublin accent while his sister Caitlin has a Belfast accent.
- "Caitlin" is a Gaelic name and is pronounced like "Kathleen" in Ireland, never "Kate-Lynn".
- The currency in Ireland is euros, not dollars.
- Firearms are severely restricted in Ireland. Even most police officers are not armed, let alone private security guards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.190.219.78 (talk) 22:14, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
indeed when large amounts of cash are transported in ireland it is armed members of the irish defence forces who provide the armed escort as a native corkman i can forgive the odd mistake with accents etc but the producers obviously didnt do much research also the scenes set in japan japan has a damp climate but seems very dusty in the show again it was probably filmed in california Bouse23 (talk) 09:05, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Hiro's Return
[edit]When he prepares to go home, he feels his work is not yet finished and ends up staying in 1671 to aid Takezo for a while longer.
This is an interesting statement. The impression I got was that Hiro was pining over the swordsmith's daughter and lost his powers, like in first season with Charley. 71.110.200.88 05:20, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
that is what happened, hence Hiro looking all worried all of a sudden.Dragon queen4ever 22:19, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
It is really ambiguous which of the two is true. Hiro's expression is the same pained expression he had before he attempted to time travel. 203.196.42.71 00:59, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
if he decided to staay, it would have been more of a 'what am I doing?' expression Dragon queen4ever 10:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Alejandro's Eyes and Direct Quotes
[edit]Alejandro's eyes did not "glow white" in the previous episode. Watch Alejandro's eyes in both episodes back to back. There is no difference: his eyes go from normal to black to normal. There is therefore no significance to the fact that his eyes turn black in this episode. Also, there are two paraphrased quotes presented as direct quotes using quotation marks. The quote "nothing to worry about as long as I'm alive" was actually "I told you, you have no reason to worry. As long as I'm alive, you will be taken care of." The quote "that's what I'm afraid of" was actually "That's exactly the problem." The paraphrased quotes can be written without quotation marks or rewritten as actual direct quotes. 203.196.42.71 00:59, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

compromise for hiro
[edit]For some reason, when he prepares to go home, he does not, and it is not clear on whether he chose not to leave, or because he lost his powers yet again.
ok, how about that until next episode kay? Dragon queen4ever 18:27, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. :) 203.196.42.71 11:11, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
