Biography of person notable for a single event

[edit]

This article was recently moved from the title that describes an event: the "Killing of Raymond Yellow Thunder" to that of the victim's name, which turns the article into a biography. The page mover claimed that the article is "clearly a comprehensive person article, even though his notability stems from his manner of death." The page was previously moved, in 2019, from the name to the Killing of ... title with the comment that "the killing is what was notable, not the person himself." Because the page had originally been moved from the victim's name, this move potentially controversial and as the move was not discussed, it should be moved back to the previous title. If anyone want to move the page then the request a simgle page move process needs to be followed.

Also, where a person who is the victim of a crime is only notable for that event, "the general rule is to cover the event, not the person." The biographical information in the article indicates the victim is a low profile individual, not a public figure. No matter how comprehensive a biography might be found in this article, far more WEIGHT is given to the CRIME and the prosecution of the perpetrators than is given to the rest of the person's life. The PROPORTION of coverage given to the killing also tips the balance, for me, to moving the article back to the "Killing of Raymond Yellow Thunder." - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:52, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
