Title

[edit]

Hi @Emenrigen: I see you reverted my name change with the argument not only Kievan Rus. But there has always been an "Outside" section in this article, hasn't there? It used to be called Old Rus' ornament#Outside Russian lands, I renamed it "Outside Kievan Rus'". Either way, places like Poland, the Baltic, Scandinavia, Moravia, and parts of the former Roman Empire are (mostly) outside both, however broad you wish to define them. So that doesn't seem to be a reason to oppose a name change, because the old / current title has the same situation.

The other argument you gave was the article Kievan Rus should also be renamed to Old/Ancient Rus, because the authors originally gave the wrong term: by Old Rus' is meant not only Kievan, but also Novgorod, Chernigov, Moscow Rus', etc. That is something you should discuss at Talk:Kievan Rus', not here. I can tell you already: that article won't change its name any time soon. For the past several years, someone shows up saying that article should be renamed (usually to Kyivan Rus'), and every single time, the current title is confirmed. It is the name of the historic state in question, and that most probably won't change. This article is connected to that historic state through its Category:Culture of Kievan Rus', so that's why my name change was correct.
