Water Quality Crisis
[edit]I have provided some editing and I have started developing a more general article. The water quality crisis topic has been moved to a sub headline to make room for more general, historical and other information about the community.--sapiyeh 18:40, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- Excellent. I'm glad somebody who knows more about the topic than I do is able to contribute. Bearcat 20:08, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
How Kashechewan got its name
[edit]I have added this part to the article. The story was related to me numerous times by various people in my time of residence in Kashechewan, 1994-2004. --Uhmaykimao 04:56, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
ELs
[edit]Per Wikipedia rules, the external links section of an article is not meant to become a comprehensive directory of every web link that anybody can locate with even marginal relevance to the community; it's to contain only the one, two or three most directly relevant links. Other links may be cited as references.
Accordingly, I have removed the following links from EL, and am placing them here so that they can be reintegrated into the article as citations where appropriate.
- Kashechewan Update, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, October 25, 2005
- Government of Canada Announces Plan to Resolve Situation in Kashechewan, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada news release, October 27, 2005
- A Plan to assure the health of residents of Kashechewan and the long-term well being and sustainability of their community, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, October 27, 2005
- Progress on Kashechewan Action Plan, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, November 3, 2005
- INDIAN AFFAIRS MINISTER COMMITS TO FIND A LASTING, LONG-TERM SOLUTION FOR KASHECHEWAN: MINISTER APPOINTS REPRESENTATIVE FOR KASHECHEWAN, news release, June 6, 2006
- "Canada's New Government signs agreement with Kashechewan First Nation to redevelop community", Indian and Northern Affairs Canada news release, July 30, 2007 - "Memorandum of Agreement and Understanding Between Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada as represented by the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and the Minister of Health ("Canada") and the Kashechewan First Nation", signed by Chief Jonathon Solomon, Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Jim Prentice and Health Minister Tony Clement, July 30, 2007
- "Conservatives Letting Down Kashechewan Residents: Neville", Liberal Party of Canada news release, July 30, 2007
I would note, however, that some of them are also already present in the article as references, and were thus being needlessly duplicated as ELs. Bearcat (talk) 01:35, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
