I worked for Kansas City Bridge Co. The last Bridge was over the Mississippi River at Quincy, IL.. It was a railroad bridge. The company also received the bid to demolish the old railroad bridge next to the new bridge. The demolition was completed in 1961. This was the last project. My father, Atwill Reed Hutchings was the Construction Superintendent. I was a laborer in training. The Company built numerous bridges, thru out the South, East and Midwest and even in Pasco, Washington. The Company was owned by the Hover family.
