So what now ?

[edit]

Article mentioned Longwave service was to be maintained "until 2014" so what's happening there now ? 89.27.154.46 (talk) 15:26, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that Kalundborg 243 kHz long wave is currently operational during four short transmission periods daily. I'm finding it quite difficult to find out details, but as far as I've been able to establish these consist of weather forecasts, news, and one or two other items (all relayed from DR's other services) broadcast at 0545–0605, 0800–0905, 1145–1215, and 1745–1820 local time (currently = UTC+2). I need to find a reliable (preferably DR) source before I add this information to the article however. -- Picapica (talk) 07:28, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
I listened this morning at 05.45 and until 06.00 they played their identification or interval music, with the news at 06.00. I thought it odd, and wondered if it was a final transmission. I see that the shipping weather forecast ceased on 1st November, 2023, and due to close down completely on 31st December.
