Unforuntely, the links to the full text of the Aish Kodesh and the other text are dead.

Can anyone find the PDF's and link them back in?

Thanks! Tewner 08:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the link to the article, as well as a lot of other information about Rabbi Shapira.

Following a review by a colleague, expanded pre-war section and added new section about educational theories. I expect to expand the discussion of the ideas in Esh Kodesh in the near future. Tamar 02:50, 27 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tamardc (talkcontribs)

While (rightly so) much is made of his educational theories as spelled out in CHovas Hatalmidim as well as his Holocaust years, there is a lot to be said for his other works, especially B'nei Machshava Tova and Hachsharat Avrekhim which describe humanities mystical reality living in a godly world and the need to perform spiritual practices primarily through connection to one's empotional life and through visualization and meditation. According to Shapira, the goal of Judaism is to attain prophecy (or in our day to get as close as we can). I would write about this, but I am in the midst of paper writing and have no time. Although it is in hebrew, Zvi Leshem has a nice doctoral dissertation on the topic. -- Yeshe
