Out of date
[edit]This article, as short as it is, is very out of date including the page title. The article has already been moved once from "KVLF" to "KVLF (AM)" to allow for a disambiguation page because of the defunct TV station with the same call letters. The current radio station now broadcasts on both AM and FM since August 2020 with the FM broadcast most certainly having more listeners since it is primarily a music station with the FM broadcast providing stereo. Both KVLF and sister station KALP share the same website with links to live streams with the one for KVLF being that of the FM stereo feed.
The former TV station may not be sufficiently notable for its own article. The TV station only existed for a couple of years over half a century ago, and was owned by the same parent company as the radio station. Additionally, the TV station only signed on weekday evenings to offer ABC network primetime programing with additional local news coverage. Other than brief local news reports undoubtedly gathered and presented by radio station personnel, the TV station had no original programing. While the radio station regularly presented local sports, the TV station lacked the staff and sophisticated equipment to provide video of local games. Furthermore, no notable personalities ever emerged from the TV station or at least not independently from the radio station. The article about the TV station, a start-level article, is unlikely to undergo further development while the stub-level article on the radio station can be significantly expanded since the station has been broadcasting continuously for nearly 75 years. The TV station article could easily be redirected into a history section in the radio station article.
The FM station was licensed on August 4, 2020 with the owner announcing the station's launch on August 12, 2020.
I've been a Wikipedia editor for a number of years, but I have no experience participating in articles regarding broadcast media. I just thought I could bring these matters to the attention of those who participate in the relevant projects. Fortguy (talk) 05:33, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
