Accuracy of detail?

[edit]

The prose (extant from the initial upload) states: "All components of the motorcycle frame and engine are developed in-house by KTM." (under Technical heading).

My understanding is that ALL engines are supplied by Honda, whether named as KTM, Gas Gas, Husqvarna, etc., and the engines are controlled (sealed). The same type of basis that Moto2 was 600 Honda, now Triumph. Is this wrong? I don't watch 'tiddler' racing (125/80/50), never have done, so I'm not entirely sure and I don't want to spend massive down-time on this. Pinging @Dennis Bratland: as has been briefly mentioned elsewhere.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 19:47, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that this KTM post gushing about their work does not include the word 'Honda' at all, only vaguely mentioning this "MOTOGP engine" as if everyone knows what that refers to, tells me that we need to seek third party sources and avoid including anything, especially superlatives, sourced only to COI parties. If that means deleting information altogether, I'm fine with that. I'd rather have no article content than content that merely repeats unverifiable claims by someone's marketing department. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 23:30, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
