Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I will use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 11:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.
Immediate Failures
[edit]It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria
- Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)It contains copyright infringements
- Copyvio suggests Daily Star, but I don't think so. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}).
- Still a cite tag required. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)It is not stable due to edit warring on the page.
- Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Links
[edit]- LOTS of unreliable sources here. To name a few: Metro, YouTube, LADBible, WP:DAILYSTAR, Daily Express et all. These need replacing with reliable sources before this could ever be promoted. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:51, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- Citations are not uniform. Please have authors, accessdates etc and wikilink work= or publisher= uniformly. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:51, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Prose
[edit]Lede
[edit]- A lede is supposed to be a summary of the main article. The references should be in the body, not the lede. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- It's not a particularly well written lede, tense should be in the past, but the opening sentence says "is". Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- We don't do times in ledes generally. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- The fight has been labelled "The Biggest Internet Event in History"[6][7] and "The Biggest White Collar Boxing Match Ever".[according to whom?] Seems like this was from a fellow youtuber, who are hardly reliable sources. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- The lede uses YouTube handles. Wikipedia would use common names in the first instance, but then use WP:SURNAME after this Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- The article is about the first fight, not the second one that may happen. Make changes to that effect. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- provided neither KSI nor Logan Paul opt out - opted. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:17, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Background
[edit]- This section jumps straight into KSI's previous fight (also, see previous section on WP:SURNAME), but they are primarily YouTube personalities, which should be explained. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- 25 million over the next several days, becoming the biggest white-collar boxing fight - In terms of money, attendance, etc? Not explained. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- YouTube Boxing Championship Belt - As far as I'm aware, this isn't a recognised belt, and shouldn't be treated as such Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- he called out the Paul brothers - Until this point, the article hasn't mentioned brothers. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- younger brother Jake to fight - This wording sounds like he challenged him to a brawl! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- However, Jake backed down, letting his older brother Logan step in to fight KSI whilst KSI's younger brother Deji Olatunji (also known as ComedyShortsGamer) stepped in to fight Jake. - Puff.
- Deji did not want to be fighting on the undercard of the fight, therefore it was agreed that the fight would be advertised with Deji and Jake's names being listed in the manner of a co-main event. - Therefore? The article has gone into no details regarding who was even running this. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- one to be held on 25 August 2018 at the Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom, - at Manchester Arena, England. Wording. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- Professional UFC fighter Michael Bisping, who trained KSI prior to the match,[21] said the fight was "an insulting mockery" to professional boxing and martial arts, stating, "I find it almost insulting to everybody that has dedicated their life to being a fighter. Come up the hard way, been a lifelong boxer or martial artist and then these two come in… they’re almost making a mockery of the sport of boxing and martial arts. - How is this background information? Should be in the reception Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- Should probably mention where Hearn works (ie, Matchroom Sport) Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]- Hi, I'm sorry TheMasterGuru, but after attempting to review this article, it's clear nothing short of a complete rewrite will fix these issues, and I'll have to fail it. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:31, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
