Being an All-America player

[edit]

The Article says "he made a total of six All-American teams" which might be the normal phraseology in the US but is far from clear to me.

  • I would normally take someone as having 'made' a rôle as meaning that they had done something that automatically granted them a position, e.g. someone who has made the the cut in a golf tournament.
  • In a sporting team however there is normally no way of automatically gaining a place. Typically someone (or some group) picks the team and they will look at the overall balance of the team, e.g. someone who is the best at skill X may not be included in the team as they are poor at everything else and the balance of the team requires someone who good at X but also okay at Y & Z.

I came here because of the link in DTK on the Main Page which is even less clear.

The other Justin Brown

[edit]

We probably need a disambiguation page for Justin Brown to differentiate this Justin Brown and the Justin Brown that attended Penn State & Oklahoma and was drafted in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh SteelersNMajdan·talk 21:54, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
