Delete (or maybe rename)

[edit]

I think this article should be deleted, and renamed / replaced with an article "Jude, the brother of James", specifically about the author of the book of Jude (and the question of whether he should be identified with Jude the Apostle). As it stands, the current article should simply be a redirect to the much more complete article Jude the Apostle. Because "Jude of James" (that is, the person mentioned in Luke 6 and Acts 1) is, by definition, the same person as Jude the Apostle. Rocksong 03:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Though I once created this article, I see now that the articles on Jude the Apostle, Jude, brother of Jesus and the Epistle of Jude cover the issue good enough. So I agree with a deletion. Str1977 (smile back) 07:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, then I think it's obvious. I've changed the links to here already, and I'll nominate it for deletion shortly. Rocksong 09:49, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. -- Pastordavid 16:05, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps even better is to turn it into a redirect to Jude the Apostle. That way (a) it works if someone happens to search for "Jude of James", and (b) it prevents a "Jude of James" article being created in the future. How does that sound? If there are no objections, I'll do that in the next day or so. Rocksong 05:57, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also James, brother of Jude should be deleted. (Its talk page actually links to here). Judging by the comment in the history, it looks like it was created by User:Str1977 by accident. Rocksong 06:57, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rather than deleting the page, I suggest making it a re-direct, and merging any pertainent info (if there is any) into Jude the Apostle. "James, the brother of Jude" should also probably re-direct to the same place. -- Pastordavid 16:32, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There is no James, brother of Jude. Str1977 (smile back) 14:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
