Political views

[edit]

Why is this section necessary? Seems awfully Orwellian. I do not see a "political views" section added to the biographies of people like Sylvester Stallone, Anderson Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Seacrest, or Bruce Willis. Or their political donations. This section should be removed. JohnnyBlood2 (talk) 20:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@JohnnyBlood2 Counter to the assertion, a section for the Political views of Bruce Willis has been present since May 2007. Similarly, there are sections dedicated to Jon Stewart's Politics (and activism), Toby Keith's Political beliefs, and an entire page for the Political views of Albert Einstein.
So there is precedence for such a section. It is also beneficial to one's understanding of the subject that is Jon Taffer, arguably more so details about the location of his residence, his current spouse, and that he has a child from a previous marriage. More importantly, these are statements made by Taffer himself, using the stage provided by his celebrity status.
I believe the section should remain, given both the subject and the events themselves are noteworthy with multiple reliable sources referenced. Baroness Samedi (talk) 03:31, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Further evidence of Taffer's political involvement was hosting then-President Donald Trump as a guest on his podcast.
KTNV (Oct 28, 2020): President Trump talks Nevada hospitality plans in Jon Taffer interview.
The goal is to document Taffer's political beliefs and activities for a more complete understanding of the man from that perspective. One could argue the current section is biased and should therefore be submitted to the NPOV noticeboard for review. Baroness Samedi (talk) 20:30, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If there are no additional comments on this matter, I will delete this section in 30 days. JohnnyBlood2 (talk) 13:14, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
