Weights and Measures

[edit]

Not that I mind, but a lot of people (especially in the USA) don't know how much a "stone" is. Is there any reason it is better to list his weight as stones and pounds rather than just pounds? Rugbyhelp (talk) 03:24, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • stones and pounds are the most commonly used unit of mass for measuring human weight in the UK, along with Kilograms which are used to a lesser extent. Pounds alone, the American staple really doesn't relate with respect to either British or Southern Hemisphere. It is a question of how you relate to the numbers being banded about; the Aussies relate to kilos, the Brits identify by stones and pounds, and the Americans in pounds alone.
