Trade to KC

[edit]

Article implies trade to KC was one of the worst trades in history. Wouldn't that depend on whose side you are on? Perhaps it was one of the best trades in history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.70.156.3 (talk) 20:24, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Erasing the batters box

[edit]

Seems that for a few years in the early to mid 1970s, every time "big John" was at Yankee Stadium he tried to obliterate the back line of the batter's box so he could get more leverage. Recall the umpire allowing him to got through the motions but when John stepped into the now unclear box, the ump would make him move his foot back into the original dimensions, or even mark out the original line with his brush or something. Big John would protest a bit, it was quite theatrical and he definitely had a fearsome bat in that era. Not sure if this is worth adding but it was quite common for awhile, and it added a fun dimension to the game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.255.84.122 (talk) 18:40, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
