2 birthdates
[edit]There's a January birthday in the intro and a July one in the box. Someone clear this up please.--Aichik (talk) 00:57, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- More than a year later we still didn't have sources for either date. Since he was 36 in November 2009, I've left the category of 1973 births (which would be correct for either the January or the July birthdate, but removed all instances of exact dates. Huon (talk) 18:23, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Please add information in John Avlon participation in the recent episode of Rio Olympics 2016. It is a matter of public interest to know his role defending journalist Nico Hines after the The Daily Beast published the article titled "I Got Three Grindr Dates in an Hour in the Olympic Village".
Analugolima (talk) 21:38, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
- Not done: as you have not made a specific request in the form "Please replace XX with YY" or "Please add ZZ between PP and QQ".
Please also cite reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 13:22, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Not standard bio
[edit]This article lacks the usual information in bios, related to progression of jobs or books, and some sense of timing (outside the books). Much information is summarized: a list of places where Avlon spoke, or was in residence, or commissions, etc. he participated in, but not the results or years. I lost a lot of edit changes in a browser crash - will start again.Parkwells (talk) 16:03, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
The article is also ridiculous because, like Avlon's book, it assumes that everybody with whom he disagrees is a "wingnut." Also, a wing nut is actually a nut, and the term was a self-congratulatory term used by the Left to smear those on the Right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.49.27.38 (talk) 01:56, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Include that he has children with Margaret Hoover. This article appears sexist as his wife's article specifies she has children with him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:CD00:F8DD:9AD8:34E0:908 (talk) 18:56, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Sloppy prep
[edit]This article had many bare urls, and a reliance on Daily Beast for material on Avlon at the Daily Beast. It would be strengthened by more secondary sources. Parkwells (talk) 17:12, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
