Irrelevance of information under section 'Places of Interest'

A lot of places placed under the above mentioned section have their own wikipedia pages e.g. Bir, Billing, Barot, Chauntra. These 3 are villages 14, 40 and 10 km far respectively.

Additionally, some of the POIs mentioned are located in other towns e.g. Baijnath temple. Chaturbhuja temple is 25 km away which in my opinion is too far to be mentioned under this page.

Therefore, I propose

1. Remove reference to other places completely

2. Remove POIs which are far or in other towns

3. Add new pages for POIs which are outside town limits

4. Remove the attractions section since it is redundant

I could have edited this page myself but I wanted to discuss this with other users and take their opinion, hence the talk.

Copy-editing Joginder Nagar: Introduction

[edit]
  • Adding following information to the description section: (Hindi: जोगिन्दर नगर Hindustani pronunciation: [dʒoːɡɪŋd̪r nɡr]; Punjabi: ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਨਗਰ; Urdu: جوگندر نگار).
  • Corrected few grammatical errors.

Copy-edited History

[edit]
  • A page for river Uhl needs to be created.
  • A page for river Bassi Power House needs to be created.
  • The history section has been restricted to contain only the known history of Joginder Nagar. Data irrelevant to the context of History has been put into other sections.

Places of Interest

[edit]

Hi Shalabh, Good to see others also working on this page. Actually very less people are interested in improving the quality of this page. Most of them are just adding more and more content to this page. I have performed a lot of changes in page today. I have moved the Places of Interest and removed the attractions section completely as you suggested.

Instead of people consolidating places of interest in the main page, I have made a page as Joginder Nagar Valley. Although, I have not performed any changes in that page since the content was too much.

If you have any other suggestions for this page, you're welcome.

LakshmiNarayan Temple

[edit]

The link to the LakshmiNarayan Temple links to the wrong temples. There is no page for the one in Joginder Nagar. AaronCarson (talk) 14:12, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
