Deletion Proposal

This article was put up for deletion due to its lack of third party sourcing. If this is the primary reason, I will find 3rd party sources on the field. However, I don't understand how "It's a college baseball field" is justification for deletion. College baseball has its own WikiProject on Wikipedia. Therefore, I reason that Division I college baseball fields, the venues of a more notable sport, are inherently notable. The Fordham program itself is one of the oldest in the nation and has the most all-time wins of any Division I program. I think this makes this specific venue notable enough to validate an article. I don't have an argument against the notability of this article, but I do take issue with the claim that college baseball is more notable than college hockey. Powers ^T 13:33, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

College hockey is incredibly popular in the northeast and midwest, far more so than college baseball. It is especially popular, even more so than minor league hockey, in HEA, WCHA, and CCHA territory. However, college baseball enjoys far more popularity than hockey in SEC, ACC, Big XII, Pac-10, Big West, etc. territory. Anyway, my argument is moot now that I have discovered and joined the college hockey WikiProject. All in all, I'd say that college hockey and baseball are about equally notable, as their regional appeal more or less balances out between north and south.Kithira (talk) 15:22, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
