Tanya Tucker
[edit]If I recall correctly, Tanya Tucker had a small role in this film. I thought perhaps this should be included in the article, but since I am not familiar with the movie or the part she played, I do not feel comfortable doing it myself.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.90.49.34 (talk) 03:03, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- The sig in the following box is accurate for the sig itself (the one within that box, OK?), but not for the material below which it was added. The edit that included that sig also replaced the immediately preceding, accurate, (and now restored) subst of the {{unsigned}} template. Said edit also included another 8 words: they were added still further down the page (apparently to respond to an intervening edit), but lacked an adjacent sig, and were replaced 5 minutes later by the same colleague's own longer, accurately signed and time-stamped, response to the same intervening edit.
I find no reason to question the implicit assertion that the same colleague made both the unsigned IP edit and the registered-editor sig in the box. However, the (now boxed) time-stamp is inapplicable to the IP-ed's prose, obscures the edit history, and (in light of at least one intervening edit) would be capable of causing substantial confusion if it were to be taken seriously.
(And, on the other hand, while i disparage the practice of removing even one's own contribs -- as opposed to striking them thru, which eases the task of auditing the accuracy of sigs by comparing to the edit-history entries and diffs -- i defer in this case to the colleague's choice to leave the removed material available only via the history.)

- This would be an interesting piece of trivia if it were true, but it seems not to be. The original edit that i reverted asserted that she had an uncredited role, possibly as a child hiding in a corn crib near the end of the film. According to the Allmusic guide on her [1] here and quoted in the Wiki article about her, Tucker's movie debut was much later. You'd need an independent ad reliable source to include this point. - I checked her Wiki article and caught that, too. But I am guessing the rules exclude using one article as a source for another, correct?
- In any event, I looked up Tucker on IMDB and as it turns out, she actually did have a role in the film! She is billed as "Qualen's daughter," though she was not credited for her work. So I suppose the next step would be, does IMDB qualify as both an indepedent and reliable source? I am still trying to learn the rules and guidelines, so I'm not really sure.
- Here is the link to her IMDB profile: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0876019/ -- You can find her role in Jeremiah Johnson under "Actress," at the very bottom of the list.

- This is where people leave messages for you and often discuss with you things that you want to edit or edits that you've made - edits meaning any additions or subtractions to articles that you've made or want to make - as with Tanya Tucker in Jeremiah Johnson.
- As it happens - IMDB is regarded as a creditable source on Wiki and you can use it. However - her appearance (and Qualen's daughter would be one of the children in the corn crib)is so minor a feature in the film that there's no place to add it there - a two second uncredited non-speaking appearance can't be "cast," and it's not at all a significant part of any other feature. You could start a trivia section, add this as a fact, and link the reference by clicking on the globe in the menu bar above (fourth from left above) and pasting in the IMDB address to her article. Wikipedia will create the reference and a footnote. Welcome to the often crazy Wiki fun.

According to the IMDB site, Tanya Tucker was in Jerimiah Johnson as Qualen's daughter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.40.56.51 (talk) 11:04, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, Tanya Tucker was in the movie. She was one of Qualen's daughter's, hiding out in the corn crib. She is the young girl on the far right of the screen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.203.141.11 (talk) 17:00, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, and thanks to all for establishing that. It is not at all relevant, however, to an article on the film. It might be worth mentioning in the TT article. Sensei48 (talk) 17:13, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- What absolute nonsense. One of the biggest names in country music had a minor role in a hit movie when she was still a child, and somehow that doesn't even merit a line in the article? Obviously, it does, and I'm adding it. — Kaz (talk) 03:33, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
- Two seconds does not constitute a "role" whatsoever - it is the equivalent of being an extra. This is pointless trivia on this page, and as above, might be of interest on TT's page but adds nothing at all to the understanding of this film.Sensei48 (talk) 07:34, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
