Film reference in "Vurt"?

[edit]

There are frequent references to a feather called "Curious Yellow", which takes the user to a very dangerous place, the place where Desdemona was lost.

While following an odd path through Wikipedia, I found I_Am_Curious_(Yellow). Could that be the inspiration for the Curious Yellow feather, or just a coincidence?

Sounds quite possible, but I guess unless someone asks the guy we'll never know. :D
I Am Curious (Yellow) is pretty famous, & I'd say that its influence is overt enough to be taken for granted, like "dinirobobdiniro."m:. 02:49, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pixel Juice and Cobralingus

[edit]

Could someone add a section on these two works? They are important works in Noon's career, as they side step from his more usual works (I say usual, its still unusual :P) and I was wondering if someone could put together information on them?

I am currently adding a section on Pixel Juice. Will be ready within the week. And also, where can i find a copy of Cobralingus on the net? when i checked their website last it was down. cheers --Danbrown99 22:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the following sentence from the section on Cobralingus: 'Until recently this book was available only in very small quantities, the first printing was in fact funded by Noon himself, however it is now found on Amazon in sufficient quantities to satisfy its small readership.' I did this for three reasons: first, I don't believe that Noon actually did fund the first printing (and there is no substantiating reference here); second, I don't know what is meant by 'sufficient... to satisfy its small readership' (and if what the writer of this sentence meant was 'sufficient... to satisfy the small demand for this work', then this claim is unsubstantiated and probably impossible to substantiate); third, in the words 'first printing' and 'now found on Amazon', there seems to be a clear implication that there has been a second printing, which is, as far as I know, not the case. Works

[edit]

So we have a Nymphomation entry now! Exciting, even if it is stubby. We should make entries for the rest of his works.m:. 02:49, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, that was me - forgive me if it's badly done - I am a newbie here! ;) I've now finished putting up a complete plot synopsis of Nymphomation, and also some information on the alternative fictional chronology of the Vurt series as well as the obvious publishing reading order; an order which only became apparent when re-reading Nymphomation. Hi, my first ever contribution. I put in a bibliography line for his recent BBC 3 commissioned radio play "Dead Code". I thought it important to distinguish this genre from the other genres listed, though I did notice that some of his electronic adaptations are listed in more "traditional" categories. devine shadows

[edit]

according to imdb.com, jeff is currently working on a film called 'Devine Shadows' with director Husein Alicajic. would it be worth adding a section for this? and has anyone got anymore information about this film? cheers dan --Danbrown99 18:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May be best to find an additional reference to the film outside of imdb, since imdb is notoriously unreliable on stuff in production or pre-production; but if you can find a corroborating report, and ideally something that has more info than just a title, I'd say create a "reported works in progress" section or some such, as the last section of the bibliography. When or if the film is in the can, a screenplay section can be added to the bib. Or you can just create a screenplay section in the bib and list 'Divine Shadows' as either in progress (being written) or in production (actually being filmed) or pre-production (people are still being hired, financing is still be secured, etc.).--Martin Boyden 12:57, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I found a reference to it outside of imdb but it doesnt mention jeff, so i don't think it counts. so it is pretty useless.--Danbrown99 18:46, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok i have gone for it after finding more sources about the film. please feel free to edit and expand. thanks --Danbrown99 18:56, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seperate pages for each novel?

would it be possible for someone to get a Vurt page up and going so we can begin to add? i don't know how to do it. thanks, dan --Danbrown99 18:24, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I went ahead and created Vurt. It's very stubby at the moment. Kweeket 20:30, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recurring themes

[edit]

Quite a lot of his books are linked by themes/settings/places etc. Maybe a little section on that would be nice :) Calg1 16:40, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i think a page on the vurt world would be a good idea, about the location, the hobart constant, celia hobart, the feathers etc. anyone up for helping? --Danbrown99 17:40, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think that should go under Vurt until we have a lot of information, then it could be moved into its own page. Kweeket 18:17, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok. i'll start tomorrow. any idea what i should title it? --Danbrown99 19:36, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Activity

[edit]

Hi all, Jeff Noon has recently re-surfaced after a few years of silence. I tried to add new links to the link section but because I am a new user, they got reverted. Is anyone able to add them in?

Here they are.
