Blue sky

[edit]

Am I dumb for not understanding this sentence: "Despite her name also meaning blue sky, the project Bluesky was not named after her"?

Does "Graber" mean "blue sky"? In what language? I am pretty sure "Jay" doesn't mean "blue sky." We are told that "Lantian," her given birth name, means something else entirely. In summation -- huh? Jeri Southern (talk) 01:17, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is explained in the "Early life and education" section: Her mother named her Lantian, meaning "blue sky" in Mandarin Chinese, as a wish for her to have "boundless freedom".. Funcrunch (talk) 18:17, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is false. Lantian (蓝田) mean blue (rice) field, not blue sky. Cleroth (talk) 02:42, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not her given name. She's a transwoman. Or perhaps non-binary. I don't remember. But as far as I have understood Graber was born as a man and later came out as a transwoman. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 92.220.74.144 (talk) 21:04, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you have a reliable source, please avoid making claims about Graber's gender identity. Funcrunch (talk) 21:19, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
