Blanking
[edit]User:24.147.103.146 Blanked page, claiming copyright infringement to www.whiteywatch.com. I can find no such infringement from that site, so I am restoring the previous version.
If you can provide a more specific source for the alleged infringement please do, otherwise please do not blank wikipedia articles. -Lanoitarus 04:54, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- I have located the specific source of the violation, [1]. I have now reverted to the most recent non-copyrighted version. -Lanoitarus 05:53, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Photo
[edit]Regarding the photo of James "Buddy" McLean, it has long since been established that it is the property of the Boston Police Department as cited in Paddy Whacked: The Untold Story of the Irish American Gangster by T.J. English (as does the previously removed quote in the introduction) and thus falls into public domain (see Image talk:McLean.JPG). If future editors feel the photo is a matter of copyright violation, they are free to request for immediate removal of copyright violations. MadMax 04:53, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's lifted an you have NO right to use it. You are no more a writer than a kid that steals twinkies from the local store. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.68.225.219 (talk • contribs)

I'm related to Jim (James McLean) through distant relatives on my mother's side. I knew Jim when I was young. My father would at times drop me off at the Royal Tap or at the dog house (Jim and his gang's private hangout)to be babysitted while he went to work. That original photo of Jim shown on Wikipedia, I saw it when I was a kid while at the Royal Tap. Jim himself showed it to me. I cannot recall who shot the photo but what I can recall I believe is that the photo was published in a boston newspaper. The individual who had the photo removed from Wikipedia in my opinion had done so for some unfair reason. In time I will go through my own family photos and if I come across Jim's picture I will forward it to Wikipedia. In fact I'm surprised that Jim's immediate family hasn't yet forwarded a photo of Jim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Psycho victim (talk • contribs) 15:36, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Irish Gang Wars: tone, sources?
[edit]The tone of the Irish Gang Wars section seems overly anecdotal, and the content itself reads like it is largely based on anecdotal evidence. What is the source of these stories? They're interesting, but they should be clearly framed within whatever source they were taken from, i.e. something like "According to (source), the history of McLean's involvement in Irish gang wars is as follows:" - JTHobbyist 23:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Parents
[edit]Buddy was not an orphan, he was the son of William McLean, a lond shoreman boss who lived in Somerville, MA. His mother is unknown to me but I did know his father, He marrried my mother's sister. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.148.85 (talk • contribs)
- T.J. English's Paddy Wacked: The Untold Story of the Irish American Gangster states:
- "Born in 1930, he'd been orphaned at a young age and adopted by immigrant Portugese parents."

Jim was an orphan. At a very young age Jim's biological parents were murdered due to psychopathic retaliation over some stupid war conflict that happened in europe many decades before. Jim and his two younger brothers were kidnapped by their parent's killers and the plan these the psychopathic killers had for them was to make their lives a living hell. The adopted parents whom Jim and his brothers grew up with had in fact kidnapped them also in order to protect them. These adopted parents did notify law authorities of the situation and were able to keep the children. In the early 1960s Jim discovered the two individuals who had murdered his parents and in retaliation he shot both of them dead (husband and wife) inside their home in boston. The proof for what I just stated, well I don't have any except for the memory I have. But I do know some individuals who can prove what I stated. Their names are James Bulger (Whitey), Howie Winter and former FBI agents John Connolly and John Morris. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Psycho victim (talk • contribs) 15:56, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
