Verification or the Lack of it

[edit]

shouldn't this have citations in it, such as to who's census, where the census can be found for verification, etc. - otherwise all of these statistics could simply be someone's imagination... for this to be valid information it needs to be confirmable somewhere...

Also, if you read the content of the article, it is predominantly opinion and very subjective at that... it needs to be cleaned up and rewritten... Stevenmitchell 07:29, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Census of India 2001 can be found at http://www.censusindia.gov.in/ but it looks like you have to pay to view the information.(so I did not add the link to the article.)
Also, I noticed that Major religions in India quotes 4,225,053 Jainism in India not 5,200,000 as it is here in this article, so one of the two is wrong.R00m c (talk) 03:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
hmmm http://www.adherents.com/Na/Na_356.html doesn't bode this out either. -- Ļıßζېấשּׂ~ۘ Ώƒ ﻚĢęخ (talk) 03:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmation. The excel table of Census of India 2011 referred to gives only 4 million Jains. This number is also given in P. Jaini: The Jaina path of Purification. 1979, p. 1. 2001:62A:4:2600:CAD9:D2FF:FE8C:BA16 (talk) 13:02, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
