– The golfer is certainly not the primary topic. Jack Simpson (footballer) is certainly more well known in the current world of sport so it makes sense to make this base name the disambiguation page. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 12:43, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Comment - per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC we should consider both "usage" and "long-term significance". As to "long-term significance" you might think that a winner of The Open Championship would outweigh a footballer who's played some games for Bournemouth and Rangers. Admittedly he's one of the least-known Open winners but even so, he's likely to have more long-term significance than the footballer. Nigej (talk) 19:54, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Page views ([1]) are in favor of the footballer. Long term significance is debatable. Overall I don't think the golfer is the primary topic. Adumbrativus (talk) 02:41, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and Adumbrativus. There are 14 entries upon the Jackie Simpson / Jack Simpson (disambiguation) page and the seven-sentence stub for the 19th-century golfer can hardly be considered capable of overtaking the combined notability of the remaining 13 entries. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:24, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
