State.gov J-1 Visa website
[edit]Can I suggest adding an External Link to the state J-1 visa page (http://j1visa.state.gov/). --208.89.207.226 (talk) 13:20, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Student J1 Question
[edit]If a student have a J1, and kept it valid and well maintained at all time of his/her stay, then got a job while studying. What is the lifetime for J1? And can it be renewed while there? If your employer is happy with you, can the visa be extended? In case no, and the employer want to keep you, should you leave the states and come back with another type of visa? How soon you can go back with different type of visa? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.254.1.183 (talk) 07:44, 2 November 2009
How to apply - personal experience
[edit]I highly appreciate that somebody began to write a bit of a to-do list recently! However, afaik wikipedia is not a place for to-do lists. So take care that it is in an style that allows it to be here. Also it is still a bit messy and does not yet cover some important circumstances. (Like the payment for the visa depends on the embassy you're dealing with. In Dublin you have to get a bank draft and bring it with you on the day of the interview.) And I was wondering why nobody editing anything regarding this topic yet logged in with his/her account? Wouldn't that validate it a bit better? Or are you too afraid of having problems because you are touching a sacret topic ;-) (Hope I didn't bring myself into trouble with that sentence ;-) Peterthewall (talk) 10:53, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the whole section is original research so I'm removing it. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 05:36, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

re Taxation
[edit]Fact: Employees do not pay Federal Unemployment tax (FUTA), only employers do. And, the sentence wording is redundant/nonsensical; if the visitors don't pay taxes, the employers "don't have to match" their (non-)payment? 75.80.134.80 (talk) 20:13, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
