The International Six Days Enduro. The oldest 'off road' Event on the FIM Calendar. First held in 1913 based in Carlisle, England. Apart from interuptions due to WW1 and WW2 held every year since then. The early events were a true test of machine and rider skill, and reliability held on the 'roads' of that era but today most of the routes being truly 'off road'. Originally titled the International Six Day Trial but since 1980 titled the 'ISD Enduro'. Always held in Europe/Scandinavia until 1974 when it was held in the USA. Since then it has been out of Europe more frequently, twice in Australia (1992 and '98) once more in USA (1994) and Brazil (2003). 2006 its in New Zealand,2007 Chile, and Greece 2008. Attracts National Teams from as many as 32 different countries in recent years. Over its long history the rules and conditions have changed to keep in step with the developments in the Sport but it remains a supreme test of man and machine over six days and approx 1250 miles, with stict rules about time allowances, and restrictions on mechanical replacements with the rider required to carry out running repairs. Usually reffered to as the 'Olympics of Motorcycling' with Trophies for Best National and Junior National Teams, Club Teams and Mfg Teams with Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for individual performance it can attract entries of +500 riders together with thousands of back up helpers and spectators. This has a major impact on Tourist income for the venue where it is based each year. A.KING--26/12/05.

Title - can we rename this page to "International Six Day Enduro" (ISDE) as that is how the event is known Pickle 17:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I don't know where that "Six Day Endurance" came from anyway. Prolog 04:13, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two things:
1) is this the World Team Championship? (at least here in Finland, right now in Mexico is said to be a World Team Championship of Enduro)
2) I'd like to know more about the previous winners; at least the nations with most wins/medals over the time would be nice. 82.141.125.249 (talk) 17:21, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is it, though I don't know if it is dubbed a team world championship outside Finland. You might find the article on the German Wikipedia helpful as it contains the full list of winners. Prolog (talk) 20:11, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can look that, but couldn't those also be copied here? 82.141.117.188 (talk) 13:29, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The results currently in this article were copied and translated from there. Feel free to expand. Prolog (talk) 16:07, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now nobody bothered to add the two latest years winners on the list. Maybe I'll look into it, if it isn't too hard for me. 82.141.67.203 (talk) 00:28, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
