A Few Questions
[edit]1) Are there situations circumstances under which teachers fail induction? If so, what are the most common causes/reasons for failing induction?
2) If a teacher fails induction (for non-malign reasons), is there still the possibilty that a teacher can have another opportunity to be re-inducted?
Questions based upon Support/assessment :
A) Support Questions :
- what structures are in place to guarantee that NQTs are not placed above the 90% timetable burden?
- Where is the induction tutor placed (in school, in a LEA)?
B) Assessment questions :
- Who carries out the regular observations (ie: an in-school co-ordinator, or an external moderator)?
- With whom is there a termly review meeting?
- Who/which organisation makes the decision as to whether the required standards have been met?
Final question, is there any external moderation procedure which might delay how long it would take for a teacher to be moderated (so that a teacher might be told they have gained NQT status "subject to moderation")? If so, what?
