Pronunciation
[edit]I am non-native and far from being a fluent speaker but many of my friends are Italian and this is a common phrase to me. The phonetical spelling "im ˈbokka al ˈluːpo" seems wrong to me (although of course it accords with what every native speaker knows about how it is written, and if they are spelling it out to you this is how they will say it). In speech, though, I always hear an elision between "bokka" and "al". To me it should be pronounced [im ˈbokk alˈluːpo] or (same difference) [im ˈbokka lˈluːpo], or (my preferred) [im ˈbokkalˈluːpo]. Very happy for thoughts on this & v happy to be over-ruled but If no-one disagrees I shall change it accordingly. Cooke (talk) 19:15, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Cooke: Yup, I think you're right. That's how I've ever heard it said; the two a's side my side don't agree, so it comes out as one. The l's might be together too though... Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:28, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
