The result of the move request was: Not moved However since the spelling error has been corrected there should be no rush to judgement on whether to use the Korean term or English translation. That needs more discussion and another RM with a specific recommendation would be warranted if the English translation is preferred. Mike Cline (talk) 12:34, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Llmin → ? – Current title is misspelled (the first letter is an "L" and should be an "I"). Even after fixing that, I don't think Ilmin alone (nor Ilminism as used in the lede) is the WP:COMMONNAME. Ilmin ideology is also rather rare. Ilminjuui seems to be the most common in Google Books (35 ghits). Anyone got better suggestions? 58.176.246.42 (talk) 02:09, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
- @58.176.246.42:
- "Ilminism", 166 results in Google
- "Ilminjuui", 138 results in google
- So I moved the main page from Llmin (wrong) to Ilminism. And I did Ilminjuui, Ilmin ideology, and One People Principle redirect to Ilminism. Thanks. --Idh0854 (talk)
- I would like to see this moved to One-People Principle, which is the common translation and the most likely English search term. Whether this is spelled One-People or One People doesn't matter much. I'd just have boldly moved it myself if the discussion flag wasn't up... Pinging 58.176.246.42, Idh0854. Ilminism is an ideology that does not currently exist.
[edit]Ilminism is a now defunct ideology that was abandoned by the Syngman Rhee regime after 1951. In the 21st century, the pro-Rhee Syngman Rhee Korean right is not Ilminist Sfdsfs (talk) 12:29, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ilminsm was rather actively emphasized by Rhee in 1951. Rhee has never denied that ideology, and although the number of direct references to "Ilminism" has decreased since 1952, Rhee was still fascist, led anti-communist slaughter, adopted and expelled mixed-race children abroad, or emphasized pure-blood. Mureungdowon (talk) 12:44, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Syngman Rhee was not a fascist Syngman Rhee's regime purged Ilminists and Ilminism was effectively politically dead. Sfdsfs (talk) 13:05, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Also, the current pro-Syngman Rhee far-right in South Korea is not carrying on Ilminism. Sfdsfs (talk) 13:15, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- The Syngman Rhee - Lee Ki-poong regime, after the defeat of Lee Bum-suk and the arrest of Ahn Ho-sang and other Ilminists, should be seen as distinct from Ilminism. Sfdsfs (talk) 13:21, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Can we continue to categorize a regime as Ilminist if it no longer espouses Ilminism and does not pursue the main values of Ilminism? Sfdsfs (talk) 13:43, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Kim Jong-un also puts little emphasis on "Juche ideology" (주체사상). But that is clearly the main ideology of the WPK. Mureungdowon (talk) 12:46, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Kim Jong-un is still promoting Kim Il-sung-Kim Jong-ilism (Juche) Sfdsfs (talk) 13:10, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- North Korea still uses the language of Juche very, very heavily. Sfdsfs (talk) 13:51, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
