Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on April 7, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the Norwegian ice block expedition of 1959 (pictured) drove three tons of ice from the Polar Circle to the Equator – with no refrigeration – and lost only around 11% of the original weight?

Route map problems

[edit]

Although the map at the top of the article page purports to show the route taken by the expedition, it has clear problems. First, it omits Oslo, plainly described in the text as the first stop. Second, the towns along the way are connected by straight lines, which surely do not exactly mimic the actual route taken. Is a better map available? --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 15:45, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
