Need Help

[edit]

Could someone resize the picture of the IMG Campus under the campus section. I can't figure out how to resize it right now. Thanks, Jeeps2009

Done. Full explanation is at Wikipedia:Extended image syntax.--Commander Keane 21:14, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POV and Advertising

[edit]

This article lacks a neutral point of view and reads like an advertisement for the IMG Academies. Further, much of the copy seems to be taken directly from the IMG Academy websites. For example, this. The article needs to be cleaned up to reflect a Neutral Point of View and to remove copyright violations resulting from directly copying text from the IMG website. Crunch 01:06, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to make this more accurate and make it less of an ad sale. Lindsay

I feel like there could be references to Andre Agassi's book "Open" in this article. --Jshecket (talk) 07:26, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Still reads very much like an advertisement. Hyperbole like "world-class" and "elite" are marketing words and not neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.233.193.18 (talk) 15:39, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I made some quick changes which hopefully addressed most of the neutrality/advertising issues. I removed the neutrality/advertising templates but if there are still issues which I missed feel free to add them back in. aqwfyj Talk/Contribs 22:11, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on merging various IMG Academy articles

Question: Should this article be merged with IMG Academy Soccer Program and IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis Program?

  • Yes. Since all the IMG programs are now under the "IMG Academy" name, I think this makes sense. Furthermore, all three articles are short on encyclopedic content and consist mostly of names of notable alumni. I think it makes sense to combine the three articles, creating separate sections in this article for the Tennis and Soccer programs, and then create an additional "List of IMG Academy alumni" article to link from the Notable Alumni section. aqwfyj Talk/Contribs 20:55, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see you went ahead and implemented this proposal without waiting for the RfC to run its course. I'm have no quarrel with the results but the process is slightly questionable. I think an RfC is a good idea for a change like this that effects multiple articles and it would have been a micrometer better to give those people who check their watch lists once a week a chance to respond instead of short circuiting the RfC after a couple of days. On the other hand, I understand the triviality of three short articles and I like the results. Nice work. Jojalozzo 19:31, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Larger Category

[edit]

Is there a larger category for high schools that dedicate a significant part of their mission to athletics? Would it be appropriate to suggest forming one? I am unclear as to whether IMG Academy is exceptional among American high schools for offering these opportunities specifically to students pursuing athletic competence or whether it fits into a group of schools with similar missions.

I have reviewed the wiki talk page guidelines and am afraid this query might appear to violate the on-topic rule, but I sense that the difficulty in understanding how unique IMG is minimizes the effectiveness of the information that the article does provide.

If anyone has information on college prep programs in the U.S. that focus on preparing athletes, I would appreciate the opportunity to aggregate that information and apologize if this query is inappropriate for this outlet.

2022 West Toronto Prep game

[edit]

Called at halftime with IMG up 96-0. The opponent is being looked at with suspicion as another potential Bishop Sycamore situation. [1] DarkAudit (talk) 07:35, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
