Blatant Ad Copy
[edit]The first two paragraphs are lifted right off of the ICEfaces web site, specifically from this page: http://www.icefaces.org/main/ajax-java/jsf-ajax.iface If this isn't an advertisement I don't know what is. I started to try to fix it up but it sounded so weasel-like that I looked on the ICEfaces site and the truth was found. This needs to be rewritten by someone NOT involved with the ICEfaces project so that it is encyclopaedic and not ad copy. Either that or removed until it is. I'm marking it {{db-spam}} theshowmecanuck 10:44EDT, 22 April, 2009
- WP:SOFIXIT It has been tagged as an advertisement for ages, and if we all had more spare time I'm sure someone would have fixed it by now. If it offends you, then you get to be the volunteer 8-) What we really shouldn't do though is to delete it, especially not through a speedy (do you _really_ think that this major product isn't notable or capable of appropriate description?).
- I'd probably have done it myself by now but, once you start using RichFaces instead, you do tend to lose interest in ICEFaces. Andy Dingley (talk) 14:59, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- So get the person who copied the data from the icefaces web site to fix it. So you're saying that because something may be notable that leaving a blatant advertisement on Wikipedia is the thing to do. I'm sure it makes Wikipedia look like a reputable encyclopedia... I hope the sarcasm is obvious. I think it is better for Wikipedia to NOT have an article on a subject if it can't be done in an encyclopaedic manner.theshowmecanuck16:00 (EDT) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.16.247.198 (talk) 20:01, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Inappropriate tone
[edit]While this page is extremely informative, I question its tone ("the most successful Ajax framework"?) and lack of any description of when this framework would not be the best one to use, or any comparison, or even mention of alternatives such as GWT. I would suggest flagging it as {{Inappropriate tone}}. Ogourment (talk) 21:12, 26 February 2008 (UTC) ogourment
- As far as I can tell, this topic's notability was never established. The current article is little more than spam. --jacobolus (t) 17:21, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- The information in this article is pretty much copied word-for-word from the commercial website advertising the software. This article should be deleted. -217.91.122.24 (talk) 13:09, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
ICEFaces is an implementation of Java Server Faces (JSF). I recommend that this and other JSF implementations be shortened and included under the JSF entry. The MyFaces entry might make a good template for the effort. Les (talk) 17:58, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
This article is misleading, promotional and bad. 170.66.1.233 (talk) 14:36, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Informative
[edit]I did find a lot of useful information through reading the article. It's not a comparison page nor does it need to be; I can get the salient points of other frameworks by reading their articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.213.63.10 (talk) 19:27, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Maintenance and rating of JavaScript articles
[edit]Concerning editing and maintaining JavaScript-related articles...
Collaboration...
[edit]If you are interested in collaborating on JavaScript articles or would like to see where you could help, stop by Wikipedia:WikiProject JavaScript and feel free to add your name to the participants list. Both editors and programmers are welcome.
Where to list JavaScript articles
[edit]We've found over 300 JavaScript-related articles so far. If you come across any others, please add them to that list.
User scripts
[edit]The WikiProject is also taking on the organization of the Wikipedia community's user script support pages. If you are interested in helping to organize information on the user scripts (or are curious about what we are up to), let us know!
If you have need for a user script that does not yet exist, or you have a cool idea for a user script or gadget, you can post it at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests. And if you are a JavaScript programmer, that's a great place to find tasks if you are bored.
How to report JavaScript articles in need of attention
[edit]If you come across a JavaScript article desperately in need of editor attention, and it's beyond your ability to handle, you can add it to our list of JavaScript-related articles that need attention.
Rating JavaScript articles
[edit]At the top of the talk page of most every JavaScript-related article is a WikiProject JavaScript template where you can record the quality class and importance of the article. Doing so will help the community track the stage of completion and watch the highest priority articles more closely.
