Copyvio?

Move request
[edit]Will someone please move this page to Iðavöllr? It's pointless and confusing to decide between anglicizations including "Idavoll", "Ithavoll", "Idavol", etc. :bloodofox: (talk) 21:24, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sure! Done. Haukur (talk) 21:26, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Pronounciation?
[edit]Could some indication of the correct pronounciation be added? Or is this not known definitively?
- It would be something like /ˈiðaˈvɔllr/ I think. I would have pronounced it /'iːda'vɔll/ in Norwegian and I have heard that Norwegian has kept most of the Old Norse vowels … 83.109.102.20 (talk) 18:15, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- … or maybe /ˈiðaˈvɒllr/ is better. The ǫ is more like /ɒ/ than /ɔ/. 83.109.102.20 (talk) 18:24, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like it does not matter too much. This is taken from Old Norse orthography:
- The low/low-mid vowels may be indicated differently:
- /æ/ = /ɛ/
- /ɒ/ = /ɔ/
- /ɑ/ = /a/

- There's not really a correct way of saying it. Like most things in the mythology, it has different names in different countries. --Følelse (talk) 17:20, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
