[edit]There is another mode where players share the input devices simultaneously. Ex. one with ASDW other in the keypad, other with mouse. One example of such game is Jump 'n Bump. Does this mode have a specific name? barrett9h 18:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- I know of no idiosyncratic name, but it could be called "local simultaneous multiplayer". As home theater PCs become more common, USB gamepads will become the most common way to play such games. --Damian Yerrick (☎) 02:19, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
you can play some rts games in hotseat if you have a second controller/mouse. starcraft conversions for video game consoles for example213.39.192.248 07:00, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
i would limit the term hotseat clearly to games where basically the access to the input device is multiplexed => Jump 'n Bump is not hotseat by that definition - but there are other non turn-based games that are still hot seat - don't remember the name but there was a hotseat racing game where the AI took over the driver for the player when chaning the seat. 88.64.153.144 (talk) 11:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Settlers 2, which is an RTS, uses divided screen to provide 'hotseat' mode. So as a few old racing game. (I can recall Motoracer only. I am not sure about Ignition.) - Xbspiro (talk) 04:13, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
