Listing of non-chain hotels in the article

[edit]

Almost every international chain hotel in Istanbul is listed in this article. What about the hotels in Istanbul that are not affiliated with an international chain, such as the Pera Palace Hotel and the Marmara Hotel? Should all hotels not affiliated with an international chain that are either five-star of have more than 100 rooms get their own separate list/table in the article as well? Propose moving the non-encyclopaedic list to Wikivoyage

[edit]

This article starts fine with being an encyclopaedic article about the hotels in Istanbul, then it floats into a non-interesting commercial and incomplete list that provides next to little value. I proposed that the latter part of the article be migrated to be a separate list of hotels voy:Hotels in Istanbul, with a suitable link here to the article. Trying to maintain a dynamic list that gets filled with commercial interests is not something which we should be entertaining. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:32, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To facilitate the separation of commercial and tourism aspects I have moved, the specific tourism and commercial aspects to voy:Hotels in Istanbul. For those who wish to continue adding those aspects, please pop over to the article there. This will enable the components for encyclopaedic content as per Wikipedia:Encyclopaedic to be built, and those interested in the other aspects to exist. To note that I added a link to the other component at the bottom of the article. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:40, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
