Move to Yeung Hang reverted
This page was recently moved to Yeung Hang (business). I have reverted the move for the following reasons:
- No consensus exists amongst editors for the move.
- Related articles including Canton System, Cohong, Thirteen Factories (and the list goes on ...) all use the term "Hong", not "Yeung Hang"
- English language sources all use the word "Hong"
- The terms Yeung Hang (洋行) and "Hong" (Hang Shang 行商) are not identical, historically the latter evolved from the former to specialise in foreign trade
- "Yeung Hang" is a Cantonese term, the convention on Wikipedia is to use Pinyin (which in this case would make it Yang Hang)
- Under the Canton System before the end of the First Opium War there were no foreign businesses in Canton or Hong Kong for that matter - everything went through the Cohong in Canton.
It may well be that in the future a separate article forks off for Foreign Trade Hang, Yang Hang or whatever but right now there is much more ground work to do before that becomes a realistic proposition.
