Song by Strike Anywhere

[edit]

Does anybody know, if the song "Hollywood Cemetery" by Strike Anywhere from their album Dead FM has anything to do with this cemetery? Thank you ver much, Lennart --207.190.127.186 (talk) 01:29, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its very likely, given that they are from Richmond. RVA all day (talk) 03:58, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are a couple new photos available re: the Palmer Chapel at Hollywood, should anyone care to add content on that to this article.

POV tag, Numerous issues with this article

[edit]

Most of the first paragraph is a word-for-word copy and paste of its source: https://www.hollywoodcemetery.org/william-h-haxall Other suspect sections should also be checked.

The discussion of the capping of the Confederate memorial is unsourced and seems to make reference to dubious local legends anyway.

The use of the word "heroic" in two places is inappropriate when less flowery language that don't create the appearance of POV is available. Numerous other examples of flowery language in this article.

Discussion of Confederate Memorial Day starts out with dubious reasons given -- "southerners yearned to preserve their culture and heritage" (which southerners and which heritage?) -- that gloss over the multitude of reasons whites in the south commemorated and elevated memory of the former Confederacy. I added a link to the holiday's article. FredericktheWise (talk) 02:17, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated the page significantly and removed the POV tag. Please review and let me know if you think additional changes are still merited. Dwkaminski (talk) 13:31, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
