Re-name?
[edit]The article's current title is a bit cryptic. This article is largely about expansion. How about re-naming the article something like "NHL Expansion" or "Expansion of the National Hockey League"? CUA 27 (talk) 12:07, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Sharks
[edit]The San Jose Sharks are referred to as an expansion team but they really are not. The Sharks are an ownership dispute that saw the Minnesota North Stars split and most Sharks were taken directly from the North Stars. [edit]Every single 'timeline' page for each of the major North American leagues have been named as such, so a page move to Timeline of the National Hockey League, which right now redirects to the timeline graph (in the history article), would make this article consistent with other pages. Examples:
