Since I've been accused of being a "vicious wiki-editor"...
[edit]This is basically pretty much all I've done to the page:
- reordered things.
- merged headers so the table of contents didn't go to 20.
- deleted a section about ethnic groups where the percentages were mentioned above
- deleted a section about Herricks being most diverse; see Lynbrook High School or Monta Vista High School if you want to know where I'm coming from
- deleted a section on practiced religions - just flat out not needed
- corrected spelling and grammar
- deleted a section on student government which was just an attack on ASB
- deleted excerpts of the UN Declaration of Human Rights - a wikilink will do, you don't need it stated on a high school article
- deleted "legends": the phrase would be notable alumni, and adding a recent graduate probably isn't condusive to the article (and I'm pretty sure not everyone will agree with him being a legend.)
That's it. My talk page, if you want to talk/ask more questions/whatever. -- Jjjsixsix (t)/(c) @ 04:28, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup
[edit]I removed quite a bit of unencyclopedic information and put in an infobox.. It read like a brochure for the school. Clamster5 15:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Re: Quiz Bowl Section
[edit]The Herricks School District has a policy preventing names of students from being published w\o permission, therefore I have removed a student's name from the Quiz Bowl Section. - Bezking 20:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- This is not the Herricks School District nor are we required to abide by their policies. I'm sure if you made a compelling argument (safety, privacy, etc.) we'd be happy to comply but we won't remove information from this encyclopedia merely because another unrelated organization has internal policies prohibiting that organization from publishing it. --ElKevbo 21:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- FYI--Wikipedia's school article guidelines also prohibits naming students who are not notable in their own right. Gtwfan52 (talk) 00:00, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
School Colors
[edit]Are not the school colors Blue & Silver, not "Blue, White, Gray"?
Athletics
[edit]Can anyone confirm a reference, for swimming and fencing? I don't see them referenced on the official Herricks websites? Who are their coaches? Are there separate men's and women's teams? If a source is confirmed, they deserve more respect should be put on to the official Herricks website. Is there a schedule posted for these teams? What season do they play in? —The preceding comment was added by Jw220635 (talk • contribs) 15:44, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
