The designs of the mecha in Heavy Gear seem directly based on the ones in the anime series Mospeada, also known as the third series of Robotech. Specifically the battloid version of the Alpha jets, also known as Legios.OzoneO11:46, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The designs were not based on Mospeada. As one of the main designers, I ought to know. The sole inspiration for the mechanical designs of the game was VOTOMS. Vulture99

The only image listed is of the cartoon robot. While I realise clear pictures are generally hard to get hold of, it seems a bit odd given that the cartoon was based off the rest of the games, rather than the other way around - this may give the wrond idea, perhaps? Actually that image is from the RPG and not the cartoon series. It comes from DP9s own HG art gallery of images from the various RPG books and is also included in the Art of Heavy Gear books. Ben W Belltalk08:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
