Creation

[edit]

I have started to trim the text from Oliver's original description for the LSE website, I'll continue to trim as it has started off rather too long for a wiki page. I also hope to add some more detail on current projects as the archive is planning to celebrate its 25th anniversary. -- Ashley VH 13:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category notes

[edit]

I find the categorization a bit confusing to follow at times so I thought I'd try and work it out. Notes about category structure can be maintained here for this page to justify changes (please add to this if you change the page categorization).

Redirect pages

[edit]

Set up a few obvious redirect pages such as Hall Carpenter archive and also LAGNA on the assumption that the HCA page is probably sufficient.-- Ashley VH 19:48, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]

Renamed web page to title case on HCA request. -- Ashley VH 22:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

British Library

[edit]

No mention of the oral archive used for the two books being deposited with the British Library. Is it somewhere else? I'd put something in, but I don't know the dates or circustances. Mish (just an editor) (talk) 00:44, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Based on an archives briefing paper ([1]), the original recordings are archived safely here:
British Library Sound Archive
96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB
Email: sound-archive@bl.uk
Holds the transcripts and tapes of the HCA oral history projects, plus related material from later projects.
The originals are likely to be on cassette tape and are unlikely to have been digitally transferred to the public self-service "soundserver". You can find them listed in the on-line catalogue ([2], try "Hall-Carpenter") though some may still be closed due to privacy reasons.—Teahot (talk) 09:08, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
