Based on the official history, I have been able to add an extended history of the first 100 years. There already was a brief mention of the merger with Royal Exchange in 1968 and it subsequent acquisition. However, that leaves a large gap between 1921 and 1968 and there seems very little readily available material. However, AGM statements do seem to be available on the Times archive. That would be a laboour of love to extract but it is there should anyone wish to try.
