Automotive only?
[edit]The photos in this article imply that grilles are only found on automobiles. May we have some other photos on objects that have grilles? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.84.36.2 (talk) 04:23, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
The point?
[edit]What's the point of a grille on a car? It seems like it would just impede air flow... --71.252.212.15 (talk) 07:48, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- To keep foreign objects (twigs, leaves, small furry animals, old ladies on their bicycles, kids) from entering the engine and blocking the air intake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.63.83.70 (talk) 14:36, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Grille types
[edit]"Per mounting location"? "Per style"? "Per fastening method"?
Ugly style. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.148.235.4 (talk) 18:29, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Varieties of English
[edit]In the United States, "grille" is used to differentiate the automotive part from the cooking device, called a "grill".
It is in the UK too. Is there any variety of English that doesn't use this spelling differentiation, or can we just change it to read "in English" ? 2.25.140.75 (talk) 21:23, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- And can we rewrite rest of this article into some form of English? What a mess. The "powered vehicle" section is ludicrous. Huw Powell (talk) 03:14, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
