[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one article was rated and this bot brought all the other ratings up to at least that level. BetacommandBot 16:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Article name
[edit]Shouldn't the article be under the author's real name, with the pseudonym redirecting there? Especially since the text of the article refers to him by his real name, not his pseudonym. Llajwa 19:24, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hm. A little late, but in Germany he is known for the pseudonym, not his real name. so this is the common name? Sebastian scha. (talk) 23:08, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Poem translation
[edit]That poem isn't going to be accessible to English readers without a translation:
Last wish / Shall I die on the proud sea / provide Gorch Fock with a seaman's grave. / Don't take me to the churchyard, / sink me deep into the sea. / Sailmaker, sew me up. / Skipper, say something from the Bible. / Boy, take your cap off for a bit... / And then slowly over board...
At dawn, at dawn / Michael (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Deutscher_Michel) slays the French dead; / at noon, at noon / he sweeps the Russians to the side / and at dusk / he smites the British into the sea! Gorch Fock.
