Just curious about the kinds of critiques, if any, that have been made with regard to this project. Amitorit (talk) 18:45, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I took out the part about Sen's work setting the ground for this type of campaigns to emerge. In fact, the girl effect is a very prescriptive project aimed at women's empowerment, Sen's capability approach is about communities define for themselves what is meant by empowerment, thus he never defines what he means by capacities. It would be misleading to say that Sen's work is the basis for this type of campaigns, he is usually a proponent of community-led development, campaigns and definitions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azural (talkcontribs) 20:41, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

POV and Tone

[edit]

The POV and Tone for the article do not fit wikipedia standards. It is not unbiased, and is not formatted like a wikipedia article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ganondox (talkcontribs) 03:38, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Movement or Campaign

[edit]

This article continues to have major issues. In the introductory paragraph, it introduces the girl effect as a movement but later describes the campaign conducted by participating companies and agencies. Large portions are replicated from this link:http://www.girleffect.org/why-girls/#&panel1-1 and contains multiple claims without citations. I would like to solicit opinions on if the article should focus completely on the branding exercise (http://www.hks.harvard.edu/hauser/role-of-brand/documents/girleffect.pdf) or if there is evidence of the term "girl effect" being used for great socio-political movements. The Girl EffectGirl Effect – previously "the Girl Effect" was a movement made up of multiple organisations working to help adolescent girls in poverty. As of 1st Sep 2015, "Girl Effect" became an independent organisation. Requesting name change to reflect this update. New company name can be seen on Girl Effect's website[1] and LinkedIn[2]. 62.6.147.30 (talk) 16:26, 1 September 2015 (UTC) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 01:52, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment, the content has also changed in the last few days, if the alliance has changed or disbanded, the current text no longer applies to the split-off org.

Text is highly promotional and uncritical already and very thin of refs to RS. Pincrete (talk) 19:00, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
