Petrified tree species
[edit]I have edited the list of petrified trees found at the park. Several of the species listed were not listed by anyother source and seemed unlikely for climatic and biogeographic reasons (breadfruit, cinammon, teak). Another species (tropical gum) appeared to be based on a confusion over common names (petrified sweetgum is found in the park). Based on my visit to the parks interpretive trail I verified the first nine species on the current list. Although 50 species have supposedly been found there, I was not able to find out what the other species were (the interpretive center was closed). I therefore left six species on the list that seem possible based on climate and biogeography (the latter six species on the current list), but if someone has a full list of the trees found there, please doublecheck them. Photo of park: upload problems
[edit]I uploaded a photo of this park's entrance (including the lovely petrified log!) here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Ginkgopark.jpg
But canNOT get it to work using the syntax that I got from http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Images ... which I interpreted as
What I am doing wrong? I will be happy to re-up-load my photo directly into wikipedia, but I understood wikimedia was preferred. rewinn 05:17, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

- All that you need to put is [[Image:Ginkgopark.jpg]] on the page, and the picture from Commons is automatically put on. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 05:21, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks - that was easy! 216.254.10.236 06:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Ginkgo/Wanapum State Park → Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park – or another title suggestion. The current title is a Wikipedia OR contrivance. Also note WP:NC-SLASH which frowns on using /. — AjaxSmack 03:46, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
