Caption says 'gilagi' instead of 'gilgai'
[edit]In the caption 'A gilagi landscape, Queensland', should 'gilagi' be 'gilgai'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwpat7 (talk • contribs) 03:13, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Unclear how to "Ask a Librarian"
[edit]In the talk-page box that begins with "Gilgai is within the scope of WikiProject Australia, which aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Australia and Australia-related topics", several items are listed, one of them being "Need help improving this article? Ask a Librarian ... at the National Library of Australia."
It is unclear to me how to ask such questions.
(1) The referenced talk-page box should have a link to a page that explains the elements of that box.
(2) I clicked on the WikiProject Australia link and a few other links without gaining any significant understanding of the scope or nature of the project.
(3) Perhaps experimentally clicking more links into WikiProject Australia would provide answers. However, (a) I don't want to click links at random while editing Wikipedia pages, and (b) My time is limited; without a concise guide telling how to "Ask a Librarian" I'm unlikely to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwpat7 (talk • contribs) 03:34, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Photo of gilgai landscape, Queensland questioned
[edit]The majority of papers about "gilgai" are about landforms with mounds and depressions, spatial periodicity or a sine wave profile. This photo depicts landforms that only have depressions in a land that is otherwise flat. I don't think these landforms have a relationship with expansive clays and do not represent what it typically called "gilgai." So if there is no objection I will replace this photo with a more appropriate represented photo of gilgai. I also want to add opposing published theory as to the formation of gilgai.
