According to BBC 5th April (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-60989282)

Professor Tolkien had in his name a blue plaque linking him to Gedling (and Carlton - BBC truncation of station name) installed highlighting his visit to his aunt where he wrote his first formal work The Voyage of Earundel.
